Elstree rebrands as Radlett Park and opens new clubhouse

Elstree Golf and Country Club has changed it’s name to Radlett Park Golf Club and recently opened a spectacular brand new clubhouse with panoramic views of the golf course.

The club has also undergone major changes during the last two years to the challenging 18 hole parkland course.

These improvements include the extension of the water feature in front of the 11th green.

There is also a new three tiered green on the 18th hole, which has been changed from a relatively straight forward par 5 to a tough par 4.

With the current refurbishment and modernisation of the existing driving range into a new state of the art floodlit Range due to open in the future, it certainly is exciting times for the club and the membership.

The members had an added reason to be excited with a visit to the club from the World’s number 1 golfer for a filming session.

Members were surprised and delighted to see Northern Ireland superstar Rory McIlroy hitting balls on the 5th hole at Radlett Park.

He happily posed for pictures and signed caps and anything else that members could lay their hands on during his brief visit.

Revamp work continues at Radlett Park Golf Club with old clubhouse now demolished

3:40pm Friday 22nd June 2012 in Sport

The major revamp at Radlett Park Golf Club continues with the old clubhouse now having been completely demolished.

A new clubhouse was opened last December boasting state-of-the-art facilities overlooking the 18th green but the previous structure has now been raised to the ground to create space for a new putting green.

It all forms part of a revamping project at the club, with a new golf range and practice facilities, which will be open to the public, being provided.

A new 30-bay driving range will be in place while landfill lorries are presently reshaping the landing area of the range and these facilities are due for completion in the spring of next year.

It is not just the practice areas that have been targeted however, with the course already having received a new 18th green and 11th tee to provide an improved layout.

The family-owned club was established in 1984 and has been developing ever since.

Work on the new two-tier clubhouse began two years ago and, now open, offers excellent facilities for golfers.

The lower floor boasts lockers for both the public and club members, drying rooms and a modern pro shop with qualified PGA professional staff on hand to assist.
