Radlett Park Seniors (‘Sages’)

The Seniors at Radlett Park, known as the ‘Sages”, is open to all 5 and 7 day Radlett Park men and lady members who have reached the age of 55.  Its purposes are two fold : (a) to promote golf at Radlett Park amongst this age  group and (b) as a social forum, with golf at its hub, amongst this same group of people.

The Sages are run by a small Committee of the current, past, and next captains, members’ representatives and a Treasurer and Secretary. There is a small annual membership fee.

The Sages run an active programme both of Competitions within the Sages, and, each summer season, mens pairs better ball matchplay Matches against, presently, some 10 other relatively local clubs’ equivalent Seniors Teams. The Matches are followed by a sit down lunch at the relevant club. There is a modest charge for playing in the Matches, to cover the costs of catering.

The Competitions within the Sages, open to men and ladies, range currently from a winter weekly running 10 hole Stableford, a knock out singles matchplay,  summer weekly running Stablefords over both 10 and 18 holes, a pairs better ball competition, an ‘Away Day’, a Captain’s Day, a Junior Sage/Senior Sage   competition, season beginning and ending competitions to a final competition   and lunch before Christmas. In addition, a prize is awarded to the best scoring Sage in the Club Medal competitions over the year. Many of the Sages also compete in either or both 5 and 7 day Club Competitions.

The SAGES have a dedicated notice board near the Pro Shop which displays useful information on matches and competitions etc.
